If you don't see responses from a candidate in your district, we highly encourage you to reach out via email or phone call and let them know you'd like them to fill out the survey. We've provided a sample email text that you can use here:
Dear CANDIDATE NAME,
I hope you’re well. Thanks for running for office and seeking to serve your community, state and nation.
I’m YOUR NAME and I live in YOUR TOWN. I recently visited a website for the Iowa Science Policy Survey, which seeks the views of Iowa primary election candidates on agriculture, the environment, climate change, public health and other science-related issues. Multiple Iowa organizations provided input to the survey’s questions. The groups are publishing the candidate responses without editing, comments or endorsement. It seems their only purpose is to guide voters on how candidates stand on these important subjects.
It appears you haven’t answered these questions, since I couldn’t find your responses on the website. Please take a few minutes to answer, so that I and other voters understand your positions on these vital matters. I’d really appreciate it!
Best wishes,
YOUR NAME
